  1. I have PGS subs from a 4K disc, I want to use them with my HDR-SDR conversion. Subs targeted for HDR are grey, not white. Is there a way I can change the color of them without having to just use SRT subs instead?

I wouldn't know about colors, but Subtitle Edit does have an option to adjust brightness of PGS streams.

Go File --> Import --> Blu-ray (.sup) subtitle for edit.
Once opened, go to Tools --> Adjust brigtness.
