  1. Hello im kinda new here.... i have some question.

    I found out that only way if i wanted to join an xvid file without getting sync error is by spliting the wav and video and join them with tmpeg encoder. Is that correct ?

    Ok here's my problem when i open my xvid file using virtuadub to extract wav i got error when i click on save as wave.

    Full processing mode->save as wave.

    Error initializing audio stream decompression
    The request convertion is not possible.
    Check to make sure you got the rite codec.

    i even get this error when i use audio convertion method.

    so i checked my xvid file with vdub file info

    Video Lenght 17.44
    Audio stream compression unknown tag (0055)

    but the files plays good on divx playet/wmp

    why i cant extract it ?

  2. Your audio is mp3 (tag 0055) and you haven't got a relevant mp3 codec.

    The clue was in the VirtualDub message!

  6. Use Gspot to open your avi - that will tell you what codecs (video and audio ) you have (or need) for this file

  7. Audio Format:
    Code: 0x0055
    Name: WAVE_FORMAT_MPEGLAYER3 (MP3)
    Vendor: ISO/MPEG

    The following codecs all claim to be capable of processing this format:

    --> {Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec (advanced)}
    --> {LAME MP3 Codec v0.9.0 - 3.93 (stable)}
    --> {MPEG Layer-3 Decoder}

    DirectShow was also able to find a codec to render it - the sound for this media clip should work fine.

    See the DirectShow Render details for more info.

  8. As you can see the codec is all installed.

    When you opened the movie with Goldwave, was it able to decompress the audio at least? Maybe you just need to change the sampling frequency in order to save as wav.

  12. Install windows media player 9....reboot....try again. This should work, especially if you are not using XP.
