  1. How do I fix this ?

  2. Did you set the path in the profile to the executable?

Which external encoder do you need? Vdub2 comes bundled with common encoders, and for the most part eliminates the need for the external encoder feature

Setup an encoder profile. Look at the vdub external encoder thread for presets and examples

ie. Don't use the external encoder.

The bundled ones are listed in the compression menu , video=>compression . Popular ones like x264,x265 are included , and it supports MP4 ,MKV container export

Okay so in Vdub2 I go to compression & select x264vfw. Followed by file & save video & one of the MP4 options & it says codec not currently supported in container MP4

    Don't use x264vfw

    Use "x264 8bit - h.264/MPEG-4 AVC codec"

It looks like MOV works with uncompressed audio but not MP4

Correct - current open source multiplexers (in other programs as well) do not support uncompressed audio in MP4 container
