I used VideoHelp's site search a few times today and saw the following message:

Unauthorized access to internal API. Please refer to https://support.google.com/customsearch/answer/4542055
I tried both Firefox and Google Chrome with the same result.

I get the same error message using Firefox and Internet Explorer.

    Working for me (IE 11/Win7-64)

Maybe a spike and now fixed.

    Correction (partial)

I was using the forum search - the one that appears lower right of the 'VideoHelp Forum' Header.

On the top search, I do get some results and also the error message.

I almost always use the top search button on VideoHelp's home page, and that is what I did today. I'll try some of the other search boxes to see what happens.

[Edit]The box below "Search Our Site" on VideoHelp's home page, the search box at the top of the VideoHelp Forum page and the search box at the top of an the pages for individual forums and individual posts also produced the error message. Using the "Search" located between "View My" and "Notifications" on the same pages worked. Since that option for search is only available to those who are logged in, non-members will be unable to use it.

I get the error no matter which search ( top or bottom right) I use from the main scereen and I am signed in.

I do not get the search bar that jimdagys ( it does work however) mentions unless I go into a post. Kind of pointless if I'm looking for something to be inside some post about something else.

    BTW... the error I'm getting:

I'm seeing the error message “Unauthorized access to internal API. Please refer to https://support.google.com/customsearch/answer/4542055” when I try access Custom Search Engine results.
This error is an indication of trying to directly access the Custom Search Engine’s internal API (‘v1element’). Please use the code snippet found in your CSE control panel. Learn more about Custom Search Element V2 setup.
For programmatic access use the public CSE JSON API.

  8. I also get this no matter which way I search:

"Unauthorized access to internal API. Please refer to https://support.google.com/customsearch/answer/4542055"

    All browsers.

It looks like the search feature is working again. Thanks, Baldrick!
