    Hello,

The video files I have are already converted to H.264 10bit 1920x1080 (Please find the source video file details below). I would like to reduce to file size using Vidcoder. My only concern is reducing the file size. I use 16 for quality settings and left all settings as same as source. So, I think only changing to HEVC 10 bit will reduce to size without effecting the quality too much. . I use HQ video settings with Profile Automatic and Level 5.0:

1st convert: using H.265 10 bit (Intel QSV). QSV decoding option checked also.
2dd convert: using H.265 10 bit (Intel QSV). QSV decoding option unchecked.
3rd convert: using H.265 10 bit (x265). QSV decoding option checked.
4th convert: using H.265 10 bit (x265). QSV decoding option unchecked.

All of them gives me the more reddish picture (attached). Is this a problem or, HEVC codec should like that and it is normal, so this picture is ok?. If it is a problem, is it related to HEVC, Intel QSV option or 10 bit. This problem not occur when I converted to H.264.
I used latest stable release portable and beta 6.0 portable of Vidcoder.
    Thank you.

Is this an HDR source? Are you trying to maintain the HDR or remove it (tone map)?

"without losing quality" compared to what ?

You always lose quality when re-encoding with lossy format

Also, handbrake /vidcoder used to not have true 10bit pipeline . They would truncate to 8bits. I think this is still the case

So that's why I have the same results with each and every conversion. Blu-ray or DVD conversion, or any video file. All of them has more red picture than the original.
I am going to convert to HEVC without 10bit and write to results.

    Any progress?

I'm stuck in QSV-acceleration-Land. If HEVC is inherently flawed, I'd like to avoid that.
