Hello.
I'm building a new system. It looks like it will be an MSI K7N420 Pro (Nvidia nForce) motherboard, AMD Athlon XP 1700+, 2x256MB PC2100 RAM, 60GB & 40GB 7200RPM HD, plus Windows XP Pro.
I am looking for a good analog capture card. I want to be able to capture from my TiVo (S-Video and stereo composite) to .avi and convert to SVCD .mpg using TMPGEnc.
Before the Capture Card section disappeared, I briefly examined the different cards and their comments and it seemed like the best analog capture card under $250 was/is Winnov's Videum 1000.
Unfortunately, this doesn't seem like a popular card and I can't find any reviews for it either on this board or on the net. Does anyone out there have one? Any comments?
Should I be looking at any other cards? I want my captures to be the highest quality they can be and the idea of dropped frames drives me nuts. I definitely want a card with integrated audio and hardware encoding is not important to me. I like the control of using TMPGEnc.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!
