Do you think you could elaborate a little more on your 20 step guide on DVD9 to DVD5 keeping the menus. I am new to this. I think I understand the basic process, but not all the details yet. If you don't have time to do this do you know of a link to such a site that might provide me with steps and screen shots? Thanks.

I think I've got everything but the 2nd from last step. Here's what I've got (backed up so I can play with them/the final step):

1) Original VIDEO_TS from DVD rip
2) Authored VIDEO_TS (& AUDIO_TS) from DVD Maestro

Ok I know I want to delete the original VOBs and replace them with the authored ones. I don't want to delete the original VTS_XX_0.vob file because that's the menu.

Question: What about the VIDEO_TS.BUP/VIDEO_TS.IFO/VIDEO_TS.VOB files? Do I want to delete them and replace them with the authored VIDEO_TS files, or keep the originals?

you are on the right track

but you don't do anything with any of the other files

you just use ifoupdate to correct the information in the main movie .ifo

ummm....2quik if you dont want the menu there are easier ways to do that

just rip the streams and author with spruce or ifoedit

then burn
