Have had this unit for 7 years and it appears that the HDD crashed.
Is it worth trying to replace HDD or not.
If it isn't too difficult I could do the job myself.
Is there a similar unit on the market today?

The physical replacing of the drive should not be difficult if you have any kind of mechanical abilities and/or logical reasoning.....and after all....it's broken already.....you can't break it any more.

The problem is finding out if getting a replacement drive and the accompanying firmware is possible. Can it be done? Has it ever been done? I'm sure it's been discussed here already.
