    How would one save this video:

    http://video.nbcsports.com/player/?id=53489

    It appears that the location of the FLV file is given in this file:
    http://video.nbcuni.com/nbcsports/smil/64_20AF407C_5799D_B118F_DA000_3BA864B05.smil

    The contents of that file look like this:

    <smil><head><meta base="" /> <layout><root-layout width="384"
    height="288" /></layout></head><body><switch><video
    src="nbcu/nbcsports/64_20AF407C_5799D_B118F_DA000_3BA864B05_0500.flv"
    system-bitrate="500000" /><video
    src="nbcu/nbcsports/64_20AF407C_5799D_B118F_DA000_3BA864B05_0300.flv"
    system-bitrate="300000" /><video
    src="nbcu/nbcsports/64_20AF407C_5799D_B118F_DA000_3BA864B05_0150.flv"
    system-bitrate="150000" /><video
    src="nbcu/nbcsports/64_20AF407C_5799D_B118F_DA000_3BA864B05_0035.flv"
    system-bitrate="35000" /><ref
    src="nbcu/nbcsports/64_20AF407C_5799D_B118F_DA000_3BA864B05_0500.flv"
    /></switch></body></smil>

    But it does not give the complete URL.

    The following does not work:
    http://video.nbcuni.com/nbcu/nbcsports/64_20AF407C_5799D_B118F_DA000_3BA864B05_0500.flv

    How can one obtain the full URL?

    Its been my experience that flv files are stored in the temp internet files folder. After the video has completely downloaded, just go to the temp folder and copy the file where you want it.

    I do see the FLV file for the ad that gets played before the video. But the FLV file for the video itself is not there.

    I've been trying to figure out the same thing for a different clip on that site.

    Apparently NBCsports.com uses RTMP, which is currently impossible to save.

    Where are all those fantastic people who make something to counteract these companies... there has to be a way to save them. Someone just has to figure it out.

    This is so frustrating... is this something very new? It's strange that there is no reference to RTMP in any of the coding. Does anyone know how to even figure what the start of these addresses is? I know it's pointless without a way to save them but I'd just like to know... I'd feel a step closer.

    I asked the question on another site:

    http://stream-recorder.com/forum/showthread.php?t=823

    Someone determined the url is:

    rtmp://cp23371.edgefcs.net:1935/ondemand/nbcu/nbcsports/64_20AF407C_5799D_B118F_DA000_3BA864B05_0150.flv

    Apparently people are working on reverse engineering RTMP, but it is still in progress and who knows when it will be finished.

    Thanks, that first part works on the site I'm trying to get videos from too.

    At least I can play them in FLV player without being on the site... I still have hope to find a way to save them. I read on a forum also that people are working on making a program to save them, they are testing it now and hope to release it soon. Hopefully it's free when they do.

    It's actually the same forum you had the link to.

    Here are a couple threads about it:

    http://stream-recorder.com/forum/showthread.php?t=853

    http://stream-recorder.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16

    The one to watch is the second one, he said he will post the finished one on there. Hopefully soon. *fingers crossed*

    Well it's been released... too bad it's useless to me, I don't have any way to buy it. The demo only lets you save 75% of each clip.
