I apologize if this has already been addressed.
I have a HDTV DVR through Cablevision in New Jersey. I would like to be able to transfer what is captured to DVD. I have a DVD Recorder with a hard drive and I like to record sporting events, mostly NFL games. I can also connect the box to my computer for a direct capture via Firewire to my hard drive. I also use Premiere 6.5 and DVDLab Pro for authoring.
My questions are:
1. I know that I cannot get true HD but is there a way to get a higher rate (say, 720p) on DVD or even DL?
2. What is the best method to use to capture the video with the least dropoff in quality?
3. How can I change the screen resolution when I edit/author?
Thanks for taking the time to read. I look forward to your responses.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

1. Not in dvd-video format. You can make a blu-ray/avchd on a dvd but it requires then a blu-ray player.

If you can put your files on your computer, try loading them in TSmuxer and preserve the 16:9.
Standard DVD only supports 480i/p.
If TSmuxer supports your files you might consider remuxing them to Blueray. You can burn Blueray to standard DVD. If you have a Blueray player and it supports playback from a standard DVD.
