Also provide the matching clip direct from the VOB.
Use DGindex to mark the section ([ and ]), save project and demux video.

  2. You can use an antialiasing filter like Santiag(), AAA(), in AviSynth. But yes, seeing a sample of the actual source would help.

Ah didn't realise you could trim it before demuxing.

Yeah a bit, i guess there's no way of getting rid of the aliasing without reducing the detail. Spline seems to be the best compromise and also sharpens things up a bit giving a crisper picture. I think on this occasion the aliasing is being caused by the lack of resolution and maybe compression to a degree.

Also is there a standalone border=true script or equivalent like QTGMC has, in order to fix the border and straighten the two half fields on the top and bottom?

  6. I used both Blur(0.5, 0.0) and dehalo_alpha(rx=2.0, ry=1.0). You don't need to blur or dehalo if you don't want. Here's one with just Santiag() to smooth the aliased edges.

    Thanks for the filters.

Now i have another issue.. When i remux the ac3 to the encoded mkv file, there's no sound.

  8. Do you get sound if you play the AC3 file? Use MediaInfo to verify the AC3 audio was really muxed into the new file.

*Facepalm* My speakers were on.. but for some reason my sound in Windows was muted. I'd have picked up on it sooner had i played something else.

Though in trying to get it "working" i discovered in MKVToolNix that if you click on the muxed audio file, i could remove the -49ms delay caused by demuxing the video and audio in DGindex, by deleting the entry in the 'Delay in (ms):' box. So pleased about that!
