  1. Hello! Please be gentle, I am incredibly *new* to this topic!

After my grandparents' deaths, my mom was tasked as the official photo keeper. As such, she became the 'owner' of all of my grandma's home movies...all of which are from the late 80s/early 90s and are on VHS. I have a Magnavox DVD/VHS player/recorder, so offered to move all of the VHS tapes to DVD. I was able to do so and took a dozen or so tapes down to 5-6 DVDs.

Now I'd like to cut out all the blank stuff where the tape was just left running with no action taking place and combine them into (preferably) 1 DVD...then make copies to share with the family. What would be the simplest way to accomplish this - what software would best serve this purpose? I'm shooting to have this done by Christmas as it would be great gifts from my mom to her 7 siblings.

Thanks in advance for any advice/help you can offer!!

Mpeg video wizard or tmpgenc authoring works or videoredo tvsuite, import the dvds, edit, reauthor to a new dvd. Those apps wont reconvert the video so no quality loss.
