  1. I got 50 Riteks G04 DVD-R with the purple top cover, they seem to burn ok at 4X and at 2X, but after when watching the movie about 40min or 1hr into the movie it just seems to frezze up.
I burned a movie on to Verbatim DVD-RW and that played fine, then burned the same movie on to the Ritek watched it and it just frezzes 48min in to the movie.
Tryed 4 different movies at 4X & 2X and they all stuff up.
    I use a LG 4040B with A302 Firmware

Ripping with DVD Decrypyer 3.1.9.0 or DVD Shrink 3.1

Burning with Nero 6.3.0.2 or BurnatOnce

i have the same problem and had the same exact problem with sandy yang - some work and some dont -

i heard it might be with dvdshrink - try compressing it an extra 200 - 300 mb so the die doesnt go all the way to the end - also i heard don't use region free in dvdshrink , use region 1 only -

i am actually about to test this method out and see if it works right now with my sandy yang (cheap media) disc since my test pack of 2 Riteks G04 are now gone (1 froze and the other worked fine)

  3. Saw on the dvdshrink 3.16 version log that it fixes a problem with some disc freezing and stuttering. Maybe this has something to do with your problem.

  8. I've burned over 100 G04's - not a single coaster or disc break up
    on play back.

  9. darz0,
have the same burner, the same firmware and have the same problem....only with Ritek G03. The latest batch of G04's that I have, seem to work fine. I'm just going to stay away from the G03's....not that this helps u, but the Ritek freezing problem is not unique....at least with some people.

  10. I think it's a disc problem.. I've been through hundreds of G04s and they definitely have a problem with quality control. There are rarely any problems with the burning itself. They all seem to burn fine but the occasional blots in the dye cause pauses in video(from my experience) Check my other topic for details...
