Home burned blu-rays does not work on all players?

I have made up movies and placed them in seperate folders on the hard drive they are the lengh to use on a d/l disc
i use imburn to make the bluray disc
they have the following directories on the disc when burnt
AACS
DBMV
Certificate

Now they run correctly on my bluray player as they do on a lot of otheres showing BDMV then run the movie.
but not on some
why is that?
I am getting people saying the disc wont load . Disc not compatabe, or even a DB-rom
the disc are zone free
on my computer using powerdvd player they show as a AVCHD


I would like the solution please .
or is it they have to be burnt on a db disc to solve this one

What do you convert and author with?

And some blu-ray players does not support bdr media.

I use magix editor to complie the movie then IMburn to bur them to disc
i would like to use dvd/l if possible as it waist to much on db disc
it there a way to minimise the persentage of players that dont work

question what would be the difference in using either disc a db or dvd/l if it was burnt using the same program and if there is a difference what would it be

I see. It's called AVCHD when you burn on dvdr media. And far from all blu-ray supports it. I guess you would get better compatibiliy with bdr media.

Some players won't play bluray or AVCHD format on DVDs at all. Some players will only play or the other on DVD media. Add to that the problem that Verbatim makes the ONLY reliable DVD+R DL media in the world and you could be having the problem that you bought some other brand of inferior DVD+R DL discs and the BD player doesn't like your media but it might actually work with Verbatim discs. So you have a lot of variables to deal with. I'm sure you understand now why you will probably never be able to find something that works for everybody unless you're willing to burn to BD-R and waste discs as BD-R discs really should work OK in almost all players.

it such a shame to waist half a disc db

Theres no way you can get a dual layer dvd burned as blu-ray to play on a blu-ray player that doesn't play dvd avchd,best thing to do is buy a blu-ray player that specifically says it will play dvd avchd.

thanks , but what if a dvd/l can be tricked to think its a db and not record as a avchd I dont get it the media is the same is it not
so what makes the difference is it software

No, the media is NOT the same.

If it was the same it would not have a different name.

And NO, you can NOT trick something into thinking one format is a different format....
They are completely DIFFERENT formats read by two completely different lasers!!

Its not the format that's different since a dvd can be burned with a blu-ray file structure,it still uses the same laser but the player detects the type of disc inserted .
