  1. I have a movie and want to remove some text from the srt. I removed the srt with mkvtoolnix by unselecting the movie and the sound and changing the extension from mks to srt. I then edited the srt and muxed it back to the version of movie with no subs. It works but is now out of sync, the text on screen is behind the spoken words

    Help appreciated

    Use a subtitle editor and just blank/delete the text without removing the start and end timing fields.

  3. Extract the sub as an SRT file with MkvExtractGui2. Edit the SRT file with a text editor like Notepad (delete the lines you don't want). Mux the new SRT with the original video and audio with MkvToolNixGUI.

    I did that. i counted the letters and put in some replacement text the same length
