  1. I know this has been posted on this forum before, but:

    1. I'm using an English OSX
    2. I have Polish set as my first language in International settings
    3. I get the error every time I try to recode anything
    4. If I change the first language to English, everything works fine.

Oh, and I think (I'm not sure and I can't check this now) I need to restart the system for the change to actually make a difference.

Nevertheless, I'd really like this to get fixed, as some programs run in English when it's set to English (obviously), and I'd rather have them run in Polish instead.

I've encountered this on one other program, which has problems of the same kind: ATI Displays. If I try to run it with Polish set as the first language, it simply hangs.

  2. I've got the same problem using ffmpegX 0.0.9t on OSX 10.4
I'm also using Polish language as a default in English OSX,

I wasn't able to convert avi+srt files (subtiltes in English) into DVD
MPEG2 file (using DVD mpeg2enc Quick Presets)

There is an alert Applescript Error window after hiting "Encode" button:
    "Can't get text item 2 of "/Folder name/somefile.avi". (-1728)

ffmpegx started to work smoothly after changing language order to English/Polish in System Prefs ->International -> Language (and system restart)

Now everything works fine. No hangs, no crashes, no alerts.

    Regards.

    I am getting this too.

"There is an alert Applescript Error window after hiting "Encode" button:
    "Can't get text item 2 of "/Folder name/somefile.avi". (-1728)

    But I'm using english only.

    Using latest FFmpegX t version.

Should I re-install FFmpegX from scratch? Ie, erase .plist, support files, etc?

  4. Alas, version 0.0.9u does not fix this problem.
