  1. For TMPGEnc (windows) to read quicktime material, you need QTReader.vfp, a plugin that reads quicktime streams. Now, this plugin apparently only reads what the screen shows, so for DV and DVCPRO material it gives you the preview quality that the Quicktime player provides you. The Quicktime player plays a preview version of the file since a PC cannot decode full quality DVCPRO material in realtime).

    I recieve a lot of quicktime DV/DVCPRO broadcast material for our channel and i encode it to MPEG-2 using TMPGEnc. How can i serve full quality DV QT into TMPGEnc?

    I know I can frameserve from Premiere (which decodes the full DVCPRO image) but this is not a preferred solution since it requires multiple demanding worksteps.

    use the mainconcept encoder instead ...

    you will aso avoid the double color space conversion with tmpgenc in your case .
