    hey everyone

im trying to convert .vob (or .m2v if need be) to a format readable in Final Cut Pro 3 (academic)

heres the slight problem, we're running OS 10.1.5 here (at school) and would prefer not having to upgrade. does anyone have any suggestions on what i should do?

    Some sort of AVI codec.
I don't think you can directly read MPEG files in FCP

  3. Grab a copy of MPEG Streamclip and use the Convert to Quicktime option. If you need NO loss use the animation codec. I usually use the Motion JPEG A codec.

  5. Get a copy of the mpeg-2 component (compatible with 10.1.3) and use Quicktime Pro (came with FCP) to translate the video to quicktime. Export the sound to AIFF and import both to FCP.

okay so the thing i found will not work.

pixel...you say i have Quicktime pro, however my quicktime says its just standard? is this because the teacher who set this up didn't set quicktime to be pro? if so, how can i make it pro?

also, do i have to buy the mpeg-2 component or should it be on the comptuer allready.

sorry i cant be more specific, but because i dont actually OWN this computer i dont know exactly what is on it.
