Can SVCD2DVD handle multiple .ts files and join them into one DVD?

    Wow. "Great minds think alike".

I had a domestic situation yesterday, whereby my wife deleted a CSI Miami episode from the Sky+ Planner... Anyway a US collegue sent me a HDTV version of said episode.... but here in the uk that doesn't get you very far. Thus i had to make SVCD2DVD do HDTV2DVD....

So in your own case you need to join the ts parts:

    Code:
    copy /b "nameofthing*.ts" "joinednameofthing.ts"
at your command prompt. (assuming you have a common name like xxxxxx.part00xxx.ts)

Then load the ts file into SVCD2DVD as normal.

Currently it is a personal build but if you want to test let me know.

FYI: the result is phenomenal with HDTV material..... on my setup it is better than Sky and at least equal to a retail DVD....

Sorry I don't follow you totally. I have a .ts file with 3 parts. I tried to drag the 3 into SVCD2DVD v2. That didn't work. Are you saying one BIG .ts file would work, while 3 small ones don't?

If I use the /b command, do I first enter all three parts names then list the name of the output file I want? Sorry, never done this before so I am a noob at command prompt stuff

    if you have:

    Code:
    mymovie.part001.ts
    mymovie.part002.ts
    mymovie.part003.ts
    [...]
    mymovie.part150.ts
    for example

then bring up a command prompt. change directory to the folder where these files are (cd \blah\blah\blah)

    then do

    Code:
    copy /b mymovie*.ts mymovie.ts
This will concatenate the parts into one big file....

This is mandatory if you have a Transport Stream (HDTV or otherwise) which is split up.

Then you would add the mymovie.ts (i.e the big one!) to SVCD2DVD and process as normal... in the build which i have, which you are welcome to test.

Things which are different as far as S2D is concerned is that:

    - .ts files are assumed to be HDTV material and so need reencoding.....
    - Typically HDTV stuff is 1920x1080i or 1280x720p and so a 16:9 AR is assumed.
    - NTSC is assumed too for the resultant DVD.
    - Autofit is enable for such assets

That sounds good to me. I would definitely need the new build that works with .ts files then correct? Yes, please send!

Yes. I have 3 .ts files (3 disks) that comprise the HDTV content. I am joining them into one file now per your instructions. Seems to be going good.

Well my first project went GREAT, but I tried another HDTV project and it went horrible. No application errors, Nero burned fine, BUT, the movie was overly compress and only took up 1/3 of the entire disk. I used autofit, I don't know what happened

Got newest build, and it worked like a charm! Used the DVD Shrink option and Nero worked flawlessly, as well as auto shutdown! Thanks! I can't wait for the HDTV2MPG to get into a final release!

ChrissyBoy - What a kind soul you are Looking forward to trying it out. Just as a reminder, 720p runs at 59.94fps and at least half of the HDTV stuff being broadcast here in the States is 720p.
