I use https://sphinx-soft.com/Vista/order.html "Windows 10 Firewall Control". Have no real-time anti-virus thus can't advise on this however if you are implementing good habits then using anti-virus scanner is OK.

Hi Kyrcy,
Firewall app (5/5): Windows Firewall Control
Antivirus (4.5/5): Kaspersky Free

I use Comodo firewall and Avast antivirus with W10. Both freeware.
Windows own firewall is useless, as is Defender, IMO. -
No as bad since Vista https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_firewalls#Firewall_rule-set_Appliance-UTM_...res_comparison and Comodo is resource hungry solution... if you have multicore CPU and plenty of RAM then perhaps not so important but in case of 2 core CPU with limited RAM it is unacceptable solution.

surprisingly microsoft's own widow's defender is now been upgraded and is good enough on it's own to use. https://www.tomsguide.com/us/best-free-antivirus,review-6003.html

I use Comodo Internet Security, but I find it a little too heavy for my taste and I usually disable several of its components. I do however appreciate the fact that it's the only truly free antivirus/firewall I found that does not nag to upgrade to a paid software. Unless I missed something?
