  1. Hello guys,

I have a HDTV recording with AC3 5.1 sound and the same video from a WEB source with 2.0 audio.

I want to dub the 5.1 AC3 track to the WEB source.

The frame rate is the same. Only the HTDV recording has some black fades in between, which the WEB source does not have.

So I would just have to cut and adjust the AC3 audio in those places.

I did this last time many years ago and at that time it was all very cumbersome. You had to save the 5.1 AC3 track in single wav files, dub them accordingly (I used CoolEdit) and then convert them back to an AC3 5.1 track.

Has anything changed in the procedure?
Is there a tool where I can open the AC3 5.1 track directly, adjust it based on the WEB video audio track, or the video and then export it directly back as AC3 5.1?

Or do I still have to create wav files and use them?

    Thank you

  2. You can use Audacity, load the ac3 5.1 directly.
You can load the web audio too (maybe stereo), so you can see all channels (8 in this case) and compare the ac3 5.1 peaks with the web audio peaks.
This way you should be able to synch the ac3 5.1 audio without the videostream.
