    Can an a movie in xvid.avi be burned dierectly to a dvd or does it need to be reformatted?If it needs to be reformatted what should it be formatted to and which program would be best for doing it?

    it need to be reformatted to mpg2
    you cand do it with TMPGEnc PLus and then you'll have to author it with your favorite program (like TMPGEnc DVD Author, or DVDit, ReelDVD, Maestro, NeroVission Express, etc)

    and then burn it to your dvd (with nero, roxio, etc)
