  1. Does anyone know what has happened to freecovers.net? They occasionally have problems with SQL errors, but they always come back. They've been down for several weeks now with a 543 Error web server not available. I haven't been able to find any current info. Cdcovers.cc has disappeared and is now a porn site. There are a few others out there but they don't have the extensive and older collection that these two had.

from Website with custom DVD covers?

    These are still active:

Cover site demise has little to do with DMCA, and is simply a matter of site costs, and waning interest (both from the site owner, and society in general) in physical media. We live in an era of streaming. It's become as antiquated as a site with VHS covers (and yes, those did exist!)

  6. You can also get lots of free art from any site, like Amazon, that still sells shiny round discs. The quality may not be super, but you can copy/paste the images and get something good enough for home use.

Kind of dis-hearted as I posted covers for stuff that wasn't on the site and used it as a archive as I put my movies in paper sleeves and discard the case.. Would of been nice if they sent a e-mail so we could of downloaded our contributions before closing shop.

Not same quality as freecovers had. Lower resolution.
I have plenty of covers pulled from those sites with vertical resolution ~4000px. In google search it half of this if you are lucky, or usually less.
Hopefully freecovers will resurface under new domain with same content, which will give them another couple of years to last before another DMCA takedown order will be effective.
