Hi.
So I remuxed several PAL dvds using MakeMKV because I want to restore the files to their proper speed (get rid of PAL speed-up). I've done it successfully with AVC codec files before, but those not being re-encoded, the format is MPEG Video.
I've slowed down the audio and used this command line to batch convert the files to 23.976 fps:
It works fine, they play properly at the new frame rate on my computer. The issue is when I play the files directly on my smart TV, the playback is jerky, I've tried two Blu-ray players as well and it's the same.for %%F in (*.mkv) do ( "C:\Program Files\MKVToolNix\mkvmerge.exe" --ui-language fr --output "New\%%~nF.mkv" --no-audio --language 0:eng --default-duration 0:24000/1001p --fix-bitstream-timing-information 0:1 --language 0:eng "%%~nxF" "%%~nF.ac3" --track-order 0:0,1:0 )
The playback is smooth with MKV files with AVC spec, so I'm assuming MPEG Video is trickier to convert without re-encoding? (the files are also flagged as interlaced). Does anyone have a solution?
Here's the mediainfo for one file (after conversion to new frame rate):
Thank you.General
