  1. Hello,

my kids love watching videos on youtube and there is one effect, that is used very often in videos from different creators. I mean the effect the style like in these videos when the things appear:

    https://youtu.be/FawbwvLUUlw?t=10s
    https://youtu.be/PcQgKC9DvJM?t=10s
    https://youtu.be/w2Lkrl5xfDM?t=10

Because of so many people are using so similar effects I think it is a preset in any programm.
Do anyone know in which programm i can make this effect? Is it in iMovie or Adobe? (Currently I'm using Lightworks.)

I want to use tis effect in my videos too but I have no idea where I can find them.

    Kind regards
    Kevin

  2. As always there is many ways to achieve this kind effect but by principle 2 almost similar approaches: at first you can use pre-rendered animation with associated or generated alpha channel and overlay such animation on top of video, alternatively you may use some dedicated video editor capable to perform 2D/3D animation on top of video. Last Blender beta looks very promising on 2D animation area.

  3. Hello pandy,

thank you for your answer. I don't have the skills to creat such things so I will need to use pre-rendered animation and overlay such animation on top of my videos. But can I do this with Lightworks? I googled for such things but I found it only for Adobe like this one:

    https://videohive.net/item/100-cartoon-elements/13725206?s_rank=13

Do I need Adobe After Effects? I think Adobe After Effects is a pro tool and difficult to use. Are there other easier to use programms I could do such overlay animation?

The one you linked to is only project files , and would not work for you without AE

Files Included After Effects Project Files
You would need pre-rendered elements , it usually would say "video files" specifically . There should be lots of selection, probably hundreds of them on video hive

  5. Thanks poisondeathray! I'm a noob when it comes to more than cutting but I think I understand it now. If I buy and download a pre-rendered elements video I could use it in lightworks as overlay.

But when I want to change color, size and position it seems like it would be easier working with Adobe and have different tiers/layers and such things.

There is no software that has these effects in and is easy to use like drag and drop the effect and move it just with the mouse to the right position? I thought maybe apple/imovie could have something like this. Because I tried it in Lightworks and it seems like it is pretty inconvenient.

    Yes

    Yes,

But you still have some control with an overlay layer

You can change size, position easily . Color to some extent because you can apply some color effects to the overlay.

In the examples you posted, you can actually exert more control with a bit of work, because they typically have only 2 colors (they are "cartoony", with a limited palette) . So you can generate masks and isolate the brighter vs darker "shades", then reapply your new color

To be clear, I'm assuming you're referring to the circular "cartoon puff" expansion only ? Because the objects appearing /disappearing "underneath" are just on a separate layer

You can drop and drag pre-rendered elements into your editor. You can change size / position easily. You can drag it over where you want. You can adjust color , and timing to some effect. Timing is more difficult to do cleanly unless you have the source project

    Thank you.
Yes I mean the circular "cartoon puff" expansion only. The objects appearing /disappearing "underneath" I could create just with cutting.
