    The movie works OK in Firefox and IE but not in Chrome.

    Can someone please tell me why not?

    Thanks.

    P.S. Yes, I know it's a lousy movie.

    Could the problem be that it doesn't contain any cats?

    Thanks for your replies.

    Hmmm, here's what I see.

    As shown, I'm using v. 47 something.

    Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be? By the way, I'm using the zip version.

    By the way, other movies (both flash based and html5) work fine.

    Here's the code for the page.
    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html>

    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-us">

         A:visited {text-decoration: none;}
    -->
    </style>
    </head>

    <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" text="#004080" link="#004080" alink="#004080" topmargin="0" leftmargin="0">

      <div align="center">

      <p><font size="2">The <font color="#FF0000">revised</font> story of the table.</font></p>

      <table border="1" width="829" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="8" style="border-collapse: collapse" bordercolor="#3399FF" width="800" height="585">
        <tr>
          <td width="100%" valign="top" align="left" bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
          <p align="center">
         <video source src="http://edu-net.net/media/ok/ok.mp4" type="video/mp4" width="720" height="540" controls>
        <font size="2">Your browser does not support the video tag.</font>
        </video>
    </td>
        </tr>
      </table>

      </div>
    </body>
    </html>
    Thanks.

    Thanks.

    I guess part of my problem is that I never use Chrome and really have no idea where to look for a solution to a problem that is clearly related to my machine and not to Chrome in general.

    I just hoped someone here would be able to help me, so I could avoid joining the Chrome support forum. I don't have a Google account, and I don't want one.

    It's because you are using Chromium and not Google Chrome. Chromium does not support proprietary codecs in html 5 video or audio. See this page http://chromium.woolyss.com/, a bit more than half way down, under HTML5 audio/video for more info.

    PLEASE excuse me. I was, indeed, using Chromium .

    I've now replaced it with Chrome, and the movie works fine.

    My most sincere apologies.
