Restoring faded/yellowed film

I'm currently restorin Cutie Honey from 1973. Being 47 years old, the series has several physical issues, including noise, scratches, certain jumpiness and low resolution. However, the most apparent is the faded, yellowed look. I was wondering if it was possible in Virtualdub to fix white balancing or otherwise test to see how the natural colors of the series would look, if it wasn't wasn't for the aging film.
There are extensive color options in Resolve, but I'm too dumb to use them. Even the more down-to-essential color&other visual options in my editing program of source, VSDC, continue to confuse and not lead to a meaningful change. Is there an easy to use way to restore colors?

Also, a good stabilizer for Virtualdub would also be appreciated. I've been trying to search for a good one that doesn't cut off too much from the video but still stabilizes well. It's very hard.

Deshaker is the stabilizer you should try using for VD. It has a border fix capability that, for some videos, can avoid cropping any of the edges. I wrote a 10-page tutorial years ago that used to be available all over the web. Since it has disappeared, I've attached a copy.

Colormill is a good VD plugin for adjusting color. You adjust by using the opposite to the tint you are trying to remove.

I'm sure you are looking for something that will automatically balance white, but none of them work very well, especially for film, where one layer has faded. I use the Color Corrector in Vegas to do most of my film restoration, and I click on a neutral sample for shadows, midtones, and highlight in order to remove the color cast. It works quite well.

That could work. What parameters did you use? I'll have to replicate all through the project.
