    Hi fine people,
I recently purchased a pioneer 106D and started writing cd's to play on my standalone (liteon - phomaster) dvd/divx player, all work fine on it and I was pleased. I gave my old cd writer to a good friend!
Problem is - I can write a cd/dvd but my Pioneer 106d will not read from it (or any other cd/dvd) I put in it. I don't know if its a driver problem or what - anyway I borrowed a straight dvd reader drive and put it in my machine aswell - and - it did the same - I can't read cd's/dvd's via that either. Now i'm confused - as my machine does not recognise any cd's/dvd's I put in my drives - yet the writer works fine as I play them on my standalone. It can't be a faulty 106d as the borrowed dvd reader does the same.

Any help on this - I would be very grateful.
