The purpose of the exercise is to stream the films using Plex which will not use Video_ts.
Using MakeMKV I am remuxing some old tv recorded films from VIDEO_TS (MPEG-2) which, using MediaInfo shows pixel size 720x576.
The resultant MKV shows the size as 352x288. The same happened regarding a previous post by me regarding a similar episode with DV tapes.
There are no settings to alter this.
Can somebody explain please?
Can I correct it?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

No. Makemkv does not reconvert. Your DVD is 352x288.
The vob contains the video:
Code:Complete name : E:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_2.VOB Format : MPEG-PS File size : 602 MiB Duration : 53mn 55s Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 1 562 Kbps Video ID : 224 (0xE0) Format : MPEG Video Format version : Version 2 Format profile : Main@Main Format settings, BVOP : Yes Format settings, Matrix : Custom Format settings, GOP : M=3, N=12 Duration : 53mn 55s Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 1 275 Kbps Maximum bit rate : 9 549 Kbps Width : 352 pixels Height : 288 pixels

Thank you very much Baldrick
I see that I used the Video_TS folder with mediaInfo and seeing what looked like a valid report accepted it, not knowing any better.
I don't really see why MediaInfo doesn't understand that it must find the vob.
I find it incredible that standard TV could look OK with so few pixels, that is why I believed what I did.
Will you please say whether my converting with MakeMKV and presenting it with the Video_ts folder is OK or should I present the vob only.
