and when i convert the sample i use regular converters from the web...
(Idont know if thats the problem)

I thought it would just work in HD but my videos come out poor quality..

iam using windows 10 and it it is updated.

Please do not post the same thread in other forums,i deleted the other one,as to your problem you will not get hd from sd source no matter what you do,re-encoding will reduce the quality, only time re-encoding will help is the fix other issues with video.

Only time re-encoding means that's the only reason to re-encode a video, some people re-encode to get a smaller size video but that's personal choice,as to your issue the onnly thing you can do is look for hd youtube sources.

  5. thats the thing, I got them in HD from a "copy source" ... and then once i have the copy.. its not in HD anymore... and once its published in "HD" like it should normally.. it still doesn't come out as HD ...

If you got them in a hd copy source then the videos should be hd,if they aren't hd after getting them then you only got the sd source. If the files are in hd resolution but look like sd quality then it's the original posters crappy upload.

I read this OP yesterday and I, like I guess many more, was confused.

I do think the OP has muddied the waters, if they can be more muddied by the total lack as has been pointed out of the lack of detail - even Movie Maker 6.0 is AFAIK not an appropriate product for Win10 - with the use of the work 'Make'

Methinks what he is saying, and rather badly, is that he can not DOWNLOAD HD sources from Youtube. Well if we are talking of music videos, in the traditional sense, many were never in HD in the first place (what Youtube does to them on upload is another matter)

If I have this correct then he needs to look at the dedicated forum here about downloading from Youtube etc. and he will find many programs that WILL download a HD clip. 'Copy Souurce' is much too vague. Yet again.

Tried this website, seems it maintains the existing resolution. If you upload SD you get SD back,
Upload HD you get HD back

    Were you expecting something different?
EDIT under "more settings" you can choose 720P

  18. MP4 is a native format on Youtube.. No need to convert
You can just get Internet download manager and download the mp4 with your browser adddonhttp://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/download.html

You can save file to MP4 and it will give you options like the highest resolution available

When you convert, are you shrinking the output to a smaller size? In resolution and file size. What is the original resolution and file size you're starting with and what resolution and file size you're ending up with?

There may be a way to use that program in the way you are trying and get the video but the program does (well it did for me) warn you that you will download the web page and not the actual video.

The normal way to use it is to play the vid in your browser and look carefully on the screen for a small box with a download notification. It will download at the quality of playback - I looked at several vids and many were just 360p - but if there are alternatives then open that notification and select the quality you want..

This program is trialware so if you want to use it beyond the trial period then you will have to pay for it. There are several totally free alternatives that with a few clicks should also download at the highest available quality.

Did you bother to read my reply ?

Videos do NOT run from that screen - not atleast until they have been downloaded. They run from a normal browser window. If you run the program direct and enter a standard youtube url you just download the webpage NOT any video on it.

Right now you are either incredibly annoying, stupid or both.

Use youtube-dl. It will usually grab the best available video, but not always. It has extensive options available but you probably won't need to use any of them. Usage is simple, at a command prompt type youtube-dl url-to-video. For example
    Code:
    youtube-dl https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OovHQhSboyM
