    Can this be done? All I want to do is add an empty 3.1 channels, so it'd play exactly as it currently does but can be muxed with a different file that's 5.1.

    It's an MKV created from a DVD via MakeMKV, AC3 audio.

    AFAIK, only if you reencode to a lossless audio format — ALAC, WavPack, MLP, coreless DTS-HD, ......

    but can be muxed with a different file that's 5.1.

    I have a WrestleMania that's in 5.1, with a pre-show match that's 2.0. I want to mux them together into one video file.

    Megui has stereo to 5.1 support. Not sure how it will mix it and if will like the mix but it will do it to FLAC or AC3 if you want.
