I searched the forums with no hits to this topic.
Divx 5.1 uses 100% CPU in Windows media player 6.4 . You can monitor with task manager as you open the file up and boom 100% and the video slows down because of the usage. Weird thing is, I never noticed this as a problem in the past. I just did a clean install of Windows 2000 and this is the first codec I have installed. Is this a bug or What??
UPDATE:
I realized checking the 'overlay' box creates hardware acceleration which reduces the cpu usage. So instead of keeping Divx 5.1.1 I uninstalled it and download 3IVX D4.5 and amazingly the quality is way better decoding Divx files than Divx themselves!!
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!
