  1. I have a amateur DVD made of four episodes of a TV program. One of these episodes is defective (the image freezes). I know I can delete this episode with myDVDEdit, but I want to replace it with a good version that is an mkv file. I assume I need to convert this to a different format. Which format do I need? How do I add it to the DVD? Would Handbrake be a good tool for the conversion?

    Thanks for your help.

No, handbrake can't convert to dvd or mpeg2.

Maybe try ffmpegx or the newer iffmpeg.

  4. Actually, Handbrake can convert to mpeg2 (the option is listed under the video codec dropdown).
However, you're still limited to mkv/mp4 containers.
What exactly is rotten in Denmark?

  6. I would try using YADE to extract the episodes as individual vob files. Try using something like Aimersoft Total Media Converter to convert from mkv to mpeg2 or vob and then bring all 4 clips into Toast for making a dvd with simple menus.

  7. Thanks for the additional information. I assume Yade is YadeX?

    Thanks again.
