Wow ! What have they done to the new Steve Martin Pink Panther dvd ? From the very beginning:
DvdFabdecrypter (the latest) -"get dvd info fail. 4096"
    dvddecrypter -"invalid IFO/BUP file"
    Dvdshrink -"invalid navigation structure"

and to top it all even Powerdvd doesn't play it !! What gives ? Have they come up with an invincible dvd that refuses to have anything to do with the computer ? Standalone plays ok of course.
Oh, and it also refuses to eject unless I do a restart....

    Two more pressing questions are:

    1. What did they do to The Pink Panther?
    2. What did they do (what happened) to Steve Martin?

Remember when he was actually funny?

    Yeah. I almost don't.

thats highly enlightening ROF, however no reason for an older Anydvd to stop just this particular dvd from playing in Powerdvd or the other probs.

True. Since there is nothing new holding the information back from being ripped on this disc but failure to update your software, any software, can result in sometimes sketchy results. This is especially true when it comes to ripping software. If your burner will not recognize a certain media and you do not have the latest firmware coding in place would you simply blame the burner and buy a new one or easily run an .exe file and update your burners firmware to recognize the media? How about your anti-virus package? Would you blame your anti-virus software for allowing a trojan horse to be installed even if your last update of virus definition was sometime last year?

Failure to update your software and then complaining about it's functionality or asking a question why it fails will invariably produce the enlightened response of "Update Your Software."

When was this DVD released? When was the last time you updated your software? Any questions?

After ripping(in file mode) use the latest FixVTS.

I had no idea shrink listed each chapter for the movies on a disc? Mine doesn't.

Ripped with DVDFabDecryptor (May 26 version).
    AnyDVD is 5.8.21 (older).
Shrink has no problems. Will try on rebuilder later.

Strange. Even my backup disc has only one chapter in shrink but when played all 28 chapters are present and selectable. I rarely if ever use shrink anymore since my purpose is backup and a backup is made for quality reasons. Shrink destroys it.

ok, i got it fixed, but i'm not sure how. i opened it in pgcEdit and did the 'remap titlesets' and 'fix streams...' and forgot what else. did fixVTS again, and somewhere in between it came out right. perhaps this is gonna become a new problem?

    btw, sorry i kinda hijacked

Nah, Shrink actually does a top notch job on stuff if you use VOBBlanker to ditch all the extras and can keep the compression over 80 percent. It's at least as good as anything else out there and better than most, save for a few, like DVD-RB & CCE perhaps. That combo is pretty tough to beat, IMO.
