  1. Between Source aspect ratio and video arrange method, what is the most accurate for a 4:3 display and source video? I have tried each of the settings and they differ from a few millimeters to an inch or more, depending on the combination!

    For me, the source is VHS, although any 4:3 original analog source is distorted geometrically. Some even put black bars on the sides, which make everything WAY too tall and squished. Am I missing the magic combo to make it correct?

  2. for SVCD try:
    source 1:1 full screen (no 'preserve aspect')
    ouput 4:3 (525line <- only in older TMPGs)

    especially if you have a pioneer player, you need to fix the SDE tags in the MPEG headers. i wrote this at least twice today, so search for it. the program you need to do this post-encoding is "fix12c.exe". also change this line below in the TMPG SVCD template (open it as text file) to

    MPEG.Display.Height=480 (<-changed from 540)

    just try encoding a few 10-second clips and burn them to a CD-RW with different settings to test with, but i think this would work.
