I'm planning to replace an older Panasonic A110 player as I now have a TV with component inputs. Good audio/video quality, VCD/SVCD playability, and price is important to me.
One possibility is the Magnavox MDV450SL (cheap and I will be using a gift card at Best Buy) and according to comments on this site it appears to support VCD/SVCD just fine.
This leads me to a question of audio/video quality. Do all players have standard features such as a 10 bit DAC and 24bit/96Khz audio capability? Or are these just markets terms that really aren't as important? Being an owner of an older player, I recall that not all of these buzz words were used a few years ago.
Thanks!
