  1. There's a program that I simply wanted to watch on a different device than online, so I downloaded its file. It's over 1 GB so I'm pretty sure it's the real deal.

But... when you play if it's just a green screen with a few block artefacts and no audio either.

Is there software that removes this?
I can google a number of programs that claim to remove DRM, but will they work in cases like these? Anyone got experience with this?

I can send an example if necessary.

Say for example this program: https://www.npostart.nl/oudejaarsconference-2020/31-12-2020/BV_101404266

Are those keys that I'd need somewhere in the html or other code?

(I'm not too lazy to google but often you get oudated results, or you have to install twelve programs until one actually works, etcetera.)

there used to be ways to get keys with javascript reverse engineering but it is very rare.
here is demonstration to get keys from Youku which obviously does not work anymore.

  9. I appreciate this of course! This is a file from your receiver, right? That's also cool because it's not easy to do that.

Saving the web versions is also useful but I think the link above seems to do the trick.

A friend of mine thinks that those are screengrabs. But is that true? I thought it was a bit too fast and too good for that.
    Either way I'm not complaining!

  12. for the decryption part if you got the encrypted video file you simply use mp4decrypt you can google for bento4 and download the folder and you only need mp4decrypt drag it to somewhere for example to your desktop and open a cmd window do cd Desktop or cd Bureaublad or whatever it is named i took example keys from above and you simply do mp4decrypt --key 85447fdeefbefa7e66cb08bc55e01fb4:dd225a76cbb974a9d 2a92974ee0a69f1 "yourdecryptedvideofilehere" "nameyouroutputefilewhateveryouwant.mp4" or you can also do it with only the key like this mp4decrypt --key 1:dd225a76cbb974a9d2a92974ee0a69f1 "yourencryptedvideohere" "decrypted.mp4" so first the kid after the : the key second example you only need the key you place it after the 1: and repeat this for the audio file to! goodluck

  13. After decrypting the segments, can you keep the old manifest?
Do you have to change/remove #EXT-X-MAP:URI="init.mp4?
Web player doesn't play with #EXT-X-MAP included, and only plays the first chunk without it.
Can you perhaps edit init.mp4 to assert the segments are no longer encrypted.
    It's AVC1 codec.

    For example, ORIGINAL:
    #EXTM3U
    #EXT-X-VERSION:7
    #EXT-X-TARGETDURATION:6
    #EXT-X-MEDIA-SEQUENCE:5755
    #EXT-X-INDEPENDENT-SEGMENTS
    #EXT-X-MAP:URI="init.mp4"
    #EXT-X-KEY:METHOD=SAMPLE-AES-CTR,URI="data:text/plain;base64,xxxxxxxx",KEYID=0x1234567890123456789 0123456789012,KEYFORMAT="urn:uuid:edef8ba9-79d6-4ace-a3c8-27dcd51d21ed",KEYFORMATVERSIONS="1"
    #EXTINF:6.006000,
    5755.mp4
    #EXTINF:5.989317,
    5756.mp4
    #EXTINF:6.006000,
    5757.mp4
    #EXTINF:6.006000,
    5758.mp4
    #EXTINF:5.989316,
    5759.mp4

    AFTER:
    #EXTM3U
    #EXT-X-VERSION:7
    #EXT-X-TARGETDURATION:6
    #EXT-X-MEDIA-SEQUENCE:5755
    #EXT-X-INDEPENDENT-SEGMENTS
    #EXT-X-MAP:URI="init.mp4"
    #EXTINF:6.006000,
    decrypted_5755.mp4
    #EXTINF:5.989317,
    decrypted_5756.mp4
    #EXTINF:6.006000,
    decrypted_5757.mp4
    #EXTINF:6.006000,
    decrypted_5758.mp4
    #EXTINF:5.989316,
    decrypted_5759.mp4
