The future of Lite-On's own brand DVD recorders is in doubt after reports that the company was to stop selling under the Lite-On name.

A story published earlier today on Hexus suggested that falling profits, caused partly by high returns of DVD recorders in the USA, would force Lite-On to concentrate on its optical drive business .
