  1. I don't have the best sound card and when I listen carefully I can hear hiss and other noise. Are there any freeware that can help?

  2. Are you sure this isn't your speakers? My speakers also hiss and buzz a tiny bit. It's only natural for actively amplified speakers to do that. Could be interferance from the power supply or other wires winding around the audio cables.

Or, do you mean to say you can hear the hiss over the music you are playing?

If that's the case, what speakers and soundcard are you using?

  3. The problem is with my onboard sound card. I hear hiss and buzz when I play back my own video captures (off satellite tv). There is no hiss and buz when I play back audio cds.

Are there any software noise reduction that works in real time captures?

In real time, I do not know. But once you have finished your capture, you may want to run your video through Gold Wave and remove the hiss that way, and join the audio and video later.
    Hello.
