Will this burner burn 3D movies? I know it will play them but will it burn them? If no then what burners will burn 3D blu-ray movies? Is the 209 a good blu-ray burner or would receommend something else? Thank you for your help as I am just now getting into burning back up copies for the kids and friends to us. Any help with burners and software would be most greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
    Thank You,

If the 3D video is properly formatted, yes it will burn it. It's just data.

I have a 209D and it performs well and seems to be a faster reader than my older Pioneer 208M.
I've burned a few dozen Verbatim Blu-ray discs using ImgBurn, both single and double layer with no problems and no failures.
The 208M has successfully burned more than a hundred BD discs.

Ditto... I also have a couple of 209D's and they are excellent. Using Verbatim BD-R disc (dozens burned with ImgBurn
    and no coasters).

I know everyone pretty much likes Verbatim as the choice of discs but does everyone like 25GB or 50GB, is there really a difference that one can see or hear?

Also I noticed Verbatim has different price points on the 25GB discs. Is there really a quality difference (video or audio or both) between the lower price Verbatim 25GB discs and the higher price Verbatim 25GB discs?
    Thank You,

I have only burned their 25GB capacity BD-R media, which I use for storing my recorded HDTV shows, and it does burn very well. The 50GB discs will hold an exact copy of a commercial DL Blu-Ray disc. The video may need to be compressed and/or some extras, subtitles, and audio tracks may need to be removed to allow the use of 25GB discs for movie backups.

Are you talking about Verbatim 25GB LTH BD-R vs their 25 GB HTL (regular) BD-R? The quality of the video and audio will be the same, however LTH BD-R media uses an organic dye layer for recording like DVD and looses data integrity more quickly than HTL BD-R media, which uses a phase-change metallic alloy rather than dye. If your kids are rough on discs and you must re-burn often, LTH media will save you some money.

At newegg, where I often buy media, Verbatim BD-R LTH costs $38 for a 50 disc cakebox and Verbatim BD-R HTL costs $48 for a 50 disc cakebox.

We all know money means nothing to independently wealthy trolls like you, but to the rest of us that is a $10 savings in a situation where longevity is not an issue because the kids will destroy the discs long before the data deteriorates.

I strongly suggest you shop around, the HTL is $40.63 on Amazon. Especially in your case when you are tight on the money! That saves you $7.27!

So for $2 and change you can have 50 HTL instead of 50 LTH discs!

There is no reason to waste good media on kids who can't or won't treat it with care.If I were buying BD-R knowing ahead of time that my children would wreck them in a short amount of time I would probably still take the $2 savings. If I knew of something cheaper that burned reliably I'd gladly recommend it instead of Verbatim LTH.
