  1. I have a 2 part question:

1 - What is the fatsest way to hardcode subtitles without degrading the quaility of the video?

2 - Is there any other way that I'm not aware of to play subtiles with an associated video file besides the following examples? mkv file containg the srt file, a video file with a matching srt file or hardcoding the subtiles permanently?

Thank You in advance for any help!!

Hardcoding requires re-encoding which inherently degrade the quality. Wheter you find it noticable or not is for you to decide.

    2. Using an overlay player. My first Google hit:

Unless you re-encode losslessly and have lots of storage space to burn.
