  1. Hello,

I have home-made DVD of home video. I am trying to rip that DVD (original video is not available anymore). Using DVD decrypter, I can not rip it. It just doesn't recognize that there is a DVD in the drive.
Using pgc.NET, it rips only part of the DVD. The DVD is of 45 minutes and it rips only 8 minutes.

Can anyone help me ripping this DVD?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. if it's a home made dvd there is no need to rip it. just use windows to copy the audio and video ts folders to your hard drive. dvds are just data. if windows fails in a normal copy then the dvd is damaged.

  3. My understanding was, ripping gets rid of some data that messes up conversion to XviD or DivX. I will copy it and try converting. Hope I won't get any problems.

    Thanks for your input.

  4. When you have copied the discs VIDEO_TS folder to your harddrive,
then run the program called FixVTS (you can download it from this site)
FixVTS check and sometimes fix errors in the DVD files.

    Good Luck
    Hubba hubba zoot zoot.......... :)
