  1. I have mkv file with language in Italian and hardcode subs in English. But mkvtoolnix.gui says the language is English? Why would this be? It is not important i am just wondering why it says English

  2. Mkvtoolnix has no text or voice recognition. If the track is flagged as English mkvtoolnix will tell you so. If a source provides no language information (e.g. a raw AC3 track) then it may default to English if you have set that in preferences ("Preferences"->"Multiplexer"->"Default values"). If it's wrong just correct it.
