    What are the two included light things for that go wiht the inputs in the back fo the receiver for? I must be dumb...

    IR Emitters. they are for blasting IR signals to components which are not within line-of-sight range of the remote's reciever.

    no, you're not dumb.. lol. You'd only need to use them if you have a set top box and need to change the channels on there. If your cable feed can be tuned, then there should be no need to use it.
