  1. Hi,
I use to download some MKV video (BluRay Rip or HD-rip)
I bought a WD Live TV to watch those video
The sound is always low... i must increase my TV sound !
I have no ampli DTS or AC3 ! Only a simple TV ...

I've tried popcorn AudioConverter that can, in his last release, increase sound volume !
    I put first 180% : result : always low !
    I put then 300% : result : always low !

So i decided to extract the Dts (or AC3) audio file from the MKV video, then compress it into Mp3 (with volume increased inside), then i re-insert the mp3 into the mkv with MKVMerge, deleting the others tracks (dts and ac3) : result : under Windows Vlc : the sound is very better ! But under my TV, no sound, only a "clack" when beginning the play and a silence !!
I think there is a problem when muxing mp3 and mkv !!

    Iam very lost !

Is there a solution that works !
    I need some help !

Unfortunately i got no money for this moment to buy a super-ampli DTS Home-Cinema !!

So, if someone had a tuto step by step to increase the audio sound in MKV !

    Thanks a lot for help

    Best regards

    ,,,
    it is strange...
iF VLC, WMP or any other media player plays it with good sound quality, i might suspect your WD Live TV built-in decoder.

    1) Download different MKV videos with different audio codec like mp3, ac3 and DTS, play all samples in WD Live TV.
I guess MKV with mp3 gonna play good.
AC3 chip decoder requires either SONY or Panasonic or equivallent Dolby Decoder Chip.

    2) Try same samples with different live TVs, either at relatives, friends or at dealers places.

    3) At last resource, you can demux video and audio from mkv using mkvtoolnix and amplyfy audio using nice audio editor (Audacity - free) and re-mux again.

  4. Thanks for your helpp Bonie81 !
My WD Live TV can read everything !
i tried to read mp3 file, then ac3 audio file and dts audio file : No pb !
What is strange is when i open my new mkv mixed with MP3 file :
the Mp3 file is ID 0 : normal or not ?
Should i give it a special rate !
    Actually it is :
320 Kbps; 48 KHz Mpeg Audio (version 1) Layer 3 (joint stereo)

Should or must i insert specific values ?

While playing under WD live, it appears My MP3 file as language and the other like English AC3 etc...
    But no language works !!!

May be there is a way to directly amplify the sound either of AC3 or DTS audio files !

    Iam lost !

You think that Audacity can amplify directly ac3 or dts audio files ?

  5. Hi,
    I got an idea !
I tested MKVMerge under my Vmware Windows Xp Sp3 classic !
Result : the mp3 has been well merged and when i read it under WD it works !!

I think that Mkvmerge do no work very well with Seven X64 !

I test again my method under Xp once then come back to you

  6. Ive just finish with : "Day after tomorrow" "Prince of persia" "Armageddon" : mkvmerge 3.4.0 under windows XP Sp3 MP3 48000 Hz 320 kbps Amplify 10 dB
Result : under WD Live TV : everything good

I think this is the solution of my pb !
Working under Wndows XP and no under Seven X64

It is solved for me !

Many thanks for your all help

    Best regards
