    I have downloaded some 24/96 5.1 Flac files but my soundbar can only decode Dolby and DTS so it's not able to use the output from VLC properly. A workaround would be to transcode the files to DTS I suppose, is there a tool to do that ? Thanks !

    Thanks, in the meantime I'd found that the eac3to directly+surcode combo did the job too

    IMHO Dolby is better choice than DTS - 640kbps vs 1.5Mbps - DD may deliver similar quality at half of the DTS bitrate.
