    Hi everyone,
I am trying to use MKVToolNix to split a video into many small videos, everything is great but I get an extra request that the required output ratio is 9:16.

Inside MKVToolNix there is a "Video properties" section I don't know how to adjust to get a 9:16 crop frame because when I tried it, it scaled, not cropped.

In addition, my computer is mainly CPU (dual E5v3 Xeon), RAM 32GB, and the graphics card is not very powerful, please give me your opinion or information about any free or paid software.

Thank you for your time !!

  2. If you want to crop to 9:16 you want to use the Cropping setting, not the Aspect Ratio setting. Beware that few players outside Windows/Mac will pay any attention to that setting.

You probably need a full video editing program or you could try AVIDemux. MKVToololnix is basically a remuxer and as others has said many players don't recognise mkv flags

Thank you for your information, but I still can't solve it for the time being.

With the full editing editor I had to manually do the steps including trimming the video and cropping it to 9:16 ratio, too time-consuming for that story.

Bandicut, Videoproc are two software that almost meets my needs but the output quality is not as good as the original like MKVToolNix, it's a headache.

I will try the software you recommend, thanks
