    I have an LG 4040b and the instructions say to change the DVD writer into master mode by itself on the secondary ide controller before updating, how critical is this procedure?

    I believe I might have done a previous update with out knowing this (previous update had no instructions), I'm having some odd problems like my Burner not being able to read its own burnt DVD's sometime after the update, but regular DVD players can read them, not sure if its related but I'm thinking of trying the next update to see if it fixes anything, I'm on A302, and thinking of going to A303.

    Any help appreciated thanks...

    Mine is on the 2nd IDE controler as master and my cd-rw as slave.
    I have updated a300--ťa302--ťa303 wirhout making any chanes in the set-up and no problems so far.
