Was wondering if i could get some info on what the deal is with clv. I have a verbatim 8X dvd+r (mc MCC 003) and one that is a verbatim 16X (MCC 004). When put the 8x in my liteon 812 drive and go to DVDinfo it says it will burn at 2.4, 4, 6, and 8. When i put in the 16x i only get a clv of 2.4 which sucks. Is there any way to change this speed or i saw an omnipatch tweak to change dvd speeds but didn't want to change anything till i got some input.
thanks

u can see the Clv difference. Weird a slower burn for a faster speed! -
Lite-On hasn't added an 8x write descriptor for MCC004, and isn't likely to, for the 812S. You'll have to use one of the patched 832S firmwares. I have an 812S, but am using 832S firmware VS0G, and when I put in an MCC004 disc I get 2.4x-8x speeds available.

gen-an, first off thanks for the help. Actually you answered a question i have been having about the firmware. I thought by using the 812 firmware that this would give me "dual layer" capabilities. I didn't know i could use the 832's firmware. Guess this is the one to make my dvd dual compatible. Thanks going to upgrade to that right now.
thanks again
