    Which one is the best?

    denver, don't know much about them but I would avoid the samsung as most do not play vcd's well if at all even though they say they do.

    I'm not sure which of these 2 is better, I would guess (by specs alone) that the "Denver" is better.

    Personally, I would buy based on what you plan on using it for the most. If it is for home-brewed VCD and SVCD's, buy something which is primarily successful at that. You'll find that DVD playing is largely acceptable on any of these (I bought a cheap Apex myself, since it literally plays all).

    If you're mainly looking for DVD playback, get one with digital audio output, Dolby, blah blah blah (I'm not aware of much differences from most of the major brands when it comes to DVD playback).
